I have a somewhat different opinion on DVAP.
I was out there in January, visiting both their Phoenix
and Casa Grande locations. In each case, I found them relatively pleasant. They
have the most organized yard I've ever seen. After walking the yard for many
hours, I let them know which parts I wanted. They let me know the
approximate price on each item, which in some cases was a bit high, in
other cases it was OK.
I went out there with their parts puller guy and watched
him carefully remove all the mouldings, taillight housings and stone guards that
I wanted. When they totaled the price, I asked them if they could reduce
the price a bit. So they knocked off 10%. I paid them immediately.
The next day, I went back for some additional pieces. They
recognized me and this time, the prices were quite reasonable.
I think they may come across as 'surly' because a lot of
people jerk them around and never call back or never follow up on the items that
they want.
