Thank you Drew. That link and catalog is a gem. I've downloaded it to save. What is described in the Goers catalog, a black cut pile carpet designed to replace the original rubber mat, is exactly what I have in my trunk. From the discussion so far, it appears
one of the previous owners made a wise upgrade. As for the judging, I felt it was very helpful and informative; but then I was seeking Original verification, not a First Junior or higher award. I've always stayed away from those picky, showroom- perfect contests.
Always loved the Hershey meet. I actually sold a 62 300 Sport I'd owned for several years in the car corral there back in the mid 1990's while lusting after something else. We're now in Southern Arizona and our mid-80's so Hershey is a little too far and we're
a little too old, but those were great days!

Unfortunately the trunk mat was gone in it so I got a pre cut carpet from I believe quirey designs that took over for Gary Goers. Their link is below. If you have trouble finding it when I get home next week I can go through my folder for the car and find the receipt. Anyway, I did this because I too took it to ACCA, at Hershey, but I entered it in a judging class not HPOF. I have been going there trying to compete with mostly or completely original cars for a while now. I have found the judges rarely pick up on these minor things unless you happen to get a Judge who really knows your model well. I feel the carpet looks better than any rubber mat option I could find. My goal was to look as original, or at least relatively believable to been original as possible. If you find a good source for a rubber mat that looks good I would love to get a hold of one but I could not. I have had my frustrations with the AACA judging, but eventually I realized I wouldn't trade the car I came in for any car on the field so it really doesn't matter.
