RE: {Chrysler 300} 300F

I send all my mechanical pumps, even new ones, down to Terrill Machine in TX for them to go over them.

True story-

When I was a young idiot (as opposed to the old idiot I am now), I bought an NOS in the original box fuel pump for my 55 C300.  After installation I went for a test drive and got about 4 miles from my house before the original, dried out, mummified diaphragm gave up the ghost.  I had my wife come to where I was broken down with the first pump that was still on the garage floor.  Reinstalled it and never changed it again during my time of ownership.  Live and learn.

I just rebuilt a double action fuel pump for my neighbor. The kit instructions said it was ethanol tolerant. I'm hoping  I didn't waste our time.

It was quite a few years ago, but I once tried to buy a rebuild kit from Then and Now, and was told at the time that they would only sell me the kit if they were the ones who installed it.  I dropped off the pump and they did the job and it was a successful rebuild.

Maybe they had some customers who didn't do the rebuild correctly and were demanding refunds or replacement of purchased parts that were damaged during failed installation?

It might have been long enough ago that 'videos' on the 'internet' were nowhere near as available as they are today.

Purchased a kit from Then and Now in February. For my F. Arrived in about a week. Haven’t rebuilt it yet. But have watched their video on it. Informative. A good watch for any novice looking to rebuild a pump. $52.50 + 19.25 shipping. $71.75. A bit pricey but what isn’t these days.

Thanks Nick. I have called several times and no one answers and the voicemail service doesn't work. I have emailed several times but no one has returned my emails and now my last email has bounced back!

Rick,

Rock Auto Parts on line. 4 different kits, very good prices. If everything else works, I would pull the valve body first. The spools have very tight tolerances, a little grit can prevent  them from shifting.

You do not need to pull trans to service valve body, pull the pan, you will be looking at it. If you need more info, ask.

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a source for a rebuild kit for an F?  Autoplicity as recommended by Frank doesn't have one and I have tried Then and Now Automotive for a week and no one has ever answered the phone or returned an email. Thanks

Hi all,

Thanks to Dave and Nick for educating me on the crossover plates used on the long rams.

My fuel pump is not picking up fuel. Is this serviceable or should I replace it? Thanks
