Hi John

Lightly greasing the cable is easy enough, but also the speedometer (I’m thinking of at least 1960-64) has a lube point also; I use zoomspout machine oil…

The lube point is just aft of the speedometer cable connection:

You don’t have to remove the speedometer or take anything apart to get oil in there but it is a little tight working behind the dash from below.  May need to do it by feel.
