Elite Veteran Posts: 1102 Location: Hayward, Calif | When you are working in the shop does your dog come in and visit you ? We have a 2 1/2 yr old Shorkie ( shid zu and yorkshire mix ). Usually couple times a day, this dog will come visit me. She wants a hug !! So I stop what I'm doing, pick her up, talk to her, pet her, about a min. or so then she wants down and trots out the door and does whatever dogs do when your not watching them. The black Lab comes in, noses around then lays down in the sanded off primer dust. Now she is black on one side and grey on the other. Anyone else have any cool dog stories ? Jerry

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8953 Location: WHEELING,WV.>>>HOME OF WWVA | our stache is primarily a lap dog but when it comes to the garage , not . he's probably been in there maybe 5-6 times . i've even brought him in , laid him in the front seat on a blanket , nope it didn't work but once in a great while he'll sneak in snoopin around . just after we got him , my wife would take him out to do his business on a chain leash . one evening she put the leash on his collar , stopped to put her outside shoes on , stache picked up the leash by the loop end and started waiting by the door for her and she called for me to come see this . when she opened the back door , stache with the leash still in his mouth walked out did his business and stood waiting . i said to him , you done , he picked the leash back up by the loop and walked himself back in and stood waiting for the leash to come off . at that time he was probably 3 mos old . to say he is just our pet would be a huge understatement ---------------------------------------------------later

Expert 5K+ Posts: 8953 Location: WHEELING,WV.>>>HOME OF WWVA | for a long time i had put 3 small biscuits on the back of the couch as a nightly snack for him , not that he ate all three . one sunday he was trying to talk to the couch in his way (begging) . my wife said you gotta come see this . he was there doin his thing but we couldn't figure out why . i went back doin my thing while my wife figured it out . one of the biscuits fell behind the couch and stache was asking the couch to have his biscuit back . now , to understand his asking the couch , you have to understand that we would have him actually ask for something and we even have him actually saying momma . sometimes it take him a ton of tries but other times , he says it right off ...... my buddy stache is way more than kool -----------------------------------------------------later

Expert Posts: 3575 Location: Netherlands | Some years ago a cat came peeking around the door in my garage everytime I was there doing stuff. Over time she grew more confident and came in a few steps further. After she'd had found the sucker inside started giving her food, that's when she knew she had found a 2nd home and started taking long naps in the garage. Usually after some time when I was working quietly on or in a car, she would give a loud shout to me, to check if I was still around. After my reply she then came looking for me to ask for attention. After that she would head back to her 'nap-tire' and fell asleep again. Later on I brought her home.

Walter passed away on Jul 29, 2014. We will miss you, Walt! Posts: 5358 Location: Heaven Above (Formerly Oklahoma City,OK) | No dog story, but a typical cat story. Gaby is of the grey stripped breed, who's momma was a feral cat. Gaby wandered in the warehouse as a kitten, and could not find the door out. She got fed with the warehouse cat and decided she liked that well enough to stay around, at least at meal time. That was 14 years ago. Now she rarely goes outside, but still brings her catches into the office to make everyone know she's doing her job. Mice, bug bugs, the occasional bird, little critters that are indigenous to Oklahoma called "horned toads" among other things. She'll headbutt yyou until you start petting her, and then she turns on her purr motor and loves you back!

Expert Posts: 2120 Location: atlanta | One of my dogs is super small at 11 lbs. But He has the classic Napolean complex most smaller than usual people and animals have. Recently we are being over run with deer around here, it's gotten so bad that the county passed an ordinance that deer have the right of way at all four way stop intersections. Well Theda, my smallest is well known for his prowness at tracking, running down, and killing deer, in fact they just contracted Him and myself to "thin the herd", We get $75.00 for every deer taken out, here's a pic of His first contract kill yesterday, and a well deserved rest afterwards. Expert Posts: 3490 Location: Montreal, Canada | My border collie, Laika, hates rides in cars except for the old cars. I believe it's the bench seats and the fact there there are no safety belts, so she can lie down and be comfy. She always wants to ride in my green Regent. She even jumped inside my other project Regent as soon as I opened the door last year, even though that one was not going to take her for a ride: (11169660_10152822084096938_8027987726454658786_o.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 11169660_10152822084096938_8027987726454658786_o.jpg (313KB - 749 downloads)

Board Moderator & Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 13066 Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | Well, one of mine is a female and she cannot aim very well and the male is trained not to pee on any car (although he would like to - pee on a tire would mean, smell of Domino smell of Domino, smell of Domino smell of Domino, smell of Domino smell of Domino, smell of Domino smell of Domino etc etc and any male dog would love to get a smell imprint repeated so many times

Elite Veteran Posts: 1060 Location: Auckland, New Zealand. | We used to take Kramer out for rides in the Fury. Even long journeys when we would go away for summer holidays at the beach. When I restored the Fury you would not believe all the places I found dog fur. Our new shepherd Wiley does not get to ride in the Fury now that it is restored though I'm afraid. She can ride in the Dodge, Imperial, Cadillac or Holden, but not the Fury with it's fabric seat inserts.. Glenn. Location: Parts Unknown | I have found that tying in my electric fence to the wheel covers will bring an instant level of avoidance from male dogs wishing to leave a little "scent" there. It is MY way of marking the cars as MY territory and lets the dogs know that I am not to be trifled with. Surprising how well it works. Cats are a little trickier to get a solid ground on, but when your do, oh boy ... THAT is some funny stuff !
